Have you ever scanned a document, only to find that the resulting digital file looks askew or misaligned?
It’s harder to read and work with, not to mention less professional looking—which is especially a concern in the event that you have to share the document with your team or clients.
Fortunately, Xerox makes it easy to scan documents and get perfectly aligned, professional looking, and fully optimized document scans. Let’s learn about how you can enjoy these benefits with the Xerox Print and Scan Experience app.
The Problem: Misaligned or Askew Scanned Documents. The Solution: The Xerox Print and Scan Experience App
Sometimes when you scan a document, even if you think you did everything perfectly, the digitized version may come back looking a bit misaligned or askew. Modern Xerox multifunction printers have built in features to mitigate this as much as possible, but since documents can be so different from one another, it may not be perfect—or perhaps you just want more manual control. This can be useful for non-standard document formatting as well.
The Xerox Print and Scan Experience app has options to automatically straighten or align your documents after they’ve been scanned. An example of where this is particularly useful is with receipts. Imagine that you’ve scanned five or six receipts; no matter how careful you are, some of them will look off-center in the final scan. The app can correct these inconsistencies.
The app also allows you to crop documents, such as when there’s too much whitespace on the margins. You can have this automatically done, or you can manually crop the documents—either for the entire set of sheets, or the entire file.
The Xerox Print and Scan Experience App Can Also Optimize Scanned Document File Sizes
With modern scanning resolutions always getting better and more crisp, file sizes naturally also tend to increase. Without optimization of the file size, they might end up being too large to send over email or other common file transfer methods. Fortunately, the Xerox Print and Scan Experience app also has built in file optimization options. You have control over the degree of file compression—for text only documents, even long ones, very small file sizes can be achieved. For documents with a lot of images, you can play with the settings to find the best compromise between image quality and file size.
