If you were a user of the Xerox Easy Translator Service, you may have already heard that Xerox has decided to discontinue this service.
That’s the bad news, but don’t worry, because this is Xerox we’re talking about here, so you know that there’s going to be good news too (and not just the “silver lining” type of good news—genuinely good news). Xerox understands that a lot of businesses depended on the functionality of the Xerox Easy Translator Service, but they’ve already prepared a replacement app. As you’ll learn in today’s blog post, it’s arguably even easier and more efficient to use.

The Xerox Easy Translator Service Has Been Discontinued. Here’s What You Need to Know
Xerox recently announced the discontinuation of the Easy Translator Service. Of particular concern to previous users might be what’s happening to your remaining account credits—the XETS system required credits for certain features, such as human translations for particularly important documents—but rest assured, your credits aren’t simply going up in thin air.
All currently existing Easy Translator Service credits will be available for use with the Xerox Translate and Print App, the new (and we would say improved) alternative to the XETS system. Now that you know your credits are safe and sound, let’s learn a little more about the new translation app:
Introducing the Xerox Translate and Print App: A Fantastic, Plug-n-Play Alternative to XETS
The Xerox Translate and Print App is a very worth successor to the Easy Translator Service. This app can translate your hard copy documents into one or all of 44 different languages, eliminating language barriers and increasing efficiency in an increasingly global marketplace.
Here’s how it works: say you have a document written in a different language, like German or Spanish. To see the document in English—or any of the other 44 languages available through the app—all you have to do is scan it into your Xerox multifunction printer. A new version of the document in your preferred language will be printed out. The quality of the machine translation is very, very good.
Note that this process can be reversed: say you’ve prepared a document in English but you need to provide it to a Portuguese speaking client. Again, just scan the document, select the output language (in this case, Portuguese), and you’ll have a high quality machine translation in seconds.
